December and Christmas in Denmark

December 1, 2014

count down candle 2

December is the first month of winter in Denmark, and the month where everyone are involved in some sort of preparation for the grand family get-together at Christmas, the evening of December 24. First of all, the traditional “countdown candle” / Advent candle, or directly translated the “Calender-light” has to be lit, to burn away one number every day. These candles are sold in many variations, but one has to be aware and buy it in time, because  they are usually sold out around the start of December. We have a lot to achieve, also here at the blog. See you tomorrow.
