About

Have you ever been curious about ordinary daily rutines in another country? Wanted to see some of these small insignificant  objects, which on the other hand are essential for navigating smoothly around in a city ? The main purpose with this blog, My Daily Denmark, is to give you some answers, by showing photos of daily life in Denmark, and give you a lot of usefull links.

My Daily Denmark corresponds with the website www.dailydenmark.dk, which will be updated frequently. Don´t hesitate to ask if there is anything you would like to know more about.

    Hej Birgitte,

I’ve spent alot of time in Copenhagen and it was great to see your picture of the Pølsevogn. I’ve often thought it would be alot of fun to import one to the UK.

Any chance of a post on Kristiania bikes? They’re so cool and I’ve only ever seen one here.

I shall click the follow button after writing this so I can stay I touch with what’s going on in Dk.

    Lovely blog!

    Best wishes

    Finn

      Hi Finn.
Thank you for your nice comment. I understand your idea about importing a Pølsevogn, that could be fun for you, perhaps also a risk of having too many though. 🙂 Recently a Pølsevogn was send to Australia because the crown prins family went there, http://www.bt.dk/royale/en-hotdog-tak ,so who knows if there will arrive one in your Country too, one day. If you´re not importing one yourself.
I´ll see if I can find a photo of that bike.
      Kind regards
      Birgitte

What will the good people of Denmark think about SpikeBoarding™

    • March 13, 2012 3:05 pm

It sure looks like great fun. I haven´t heard about SpikeBoarding before, so you´ll probably be the first to find out how people will react. 🙂
Not long ago, this news was on front: ” A 4,600 sqm skate park in Fælledparken (a Copenhagen park) set to be the biggest and best of its kind in Northern Europe”

    Hello Birgitte,

I love reading ‘My Daily Denmark’ and I look forward to your posts and I’d like to nominate you for the Versatile Blogger Award.

If you don’t want to accept that’s fine, but if you do, the award requests that you nominate your favourite fifteen blogs and notify them of the nomination, share seven facts about yourself, and lastly display the award logo on your website (a copy of the logo can be lifted from here: http://thenaturephile.com/2012/03/16/id-just-like-to-thank/).

Finn, I am really happy that you like the blog, it is a good motivator for me to know. I understand that you have been living in Copenhagen for a while – your name is common in Denmark, – Danish roots perhaps? Thank you very much for the award, that was very kind of you. I think I´ll prefer to wait a little with following the requests, if you don´t mind, this blog is still very new. 🙂

      • March 17, 2012 9:10 am

        Hello Birgitte,

I didn’t live in Copenhagen, but I have been there many times to visit friends and family, I am half Danish, my mother is from Svendborg. Regarding the award, I don’t mind at all, I just wanted to show appreciation for all your lovely, evocative images.

        Best wishes

        Finn

Thank you very much Robin, that is so kind of you, I appreciate to be on your award list. If you don´t mind, I will let it wait a bit, – as I also wrote to Finn from http://thenaturephile.com, because my blog still is new.

Birgitte, what a great idea and so well done!

How about a post on Danish hygge?

      Thank you. 🙂
Good idea about the “hygge” subject, I´l think of how I can illustrate that feeling.

    Hi Birgitte,

My name’s Samuel Dodson and I’m the regional editor at guestaurant.com (www.guestaurant.com) for the UK & Europe.

I’m writing to you on your great blog to see if you would perhaps be interested in attending the Kulinarisk Sydfyn festival on behalf of Guestaurant – writing an article of your experience – and having your work and your blog/websites promoted by us.

The event is this weekend the 23rd-24th June in Svendborg, and we would offer you complimentary accommodation at the christiansminde hotel (www.christiansminde.dk/)

Please do get in touch – my e-mail is editor.europe@guestaurant.com
I look forward to speaking with you soon.
Many thanks and my very best wishes,
    Sam.

Hi, Birgitte! Thanks so much for visiting and following my blog. I just finished reading Carsten Jensen’s “We, the Drowned,” and I’m totally obsessing about all things Denmark. 🙂
